In Memory

Kimberly Sue Lewis

Kim would have been in our graduating class, but tragically she passed away as the result of a dirt bike accident during the summer before her sophomore year at Northwestern High School. Her mother would come to school events, including senior prom, with her video camera to record the memories that Kim would have made.

Following is her obituary that was published in The Evening Herald on August 11, 1983:

Kimberly Sue Lewis, 15, 1811 Wedgefield Drive, died Wednesday. Graveside services will be noon Friday in Forest Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Lawson Horton officiating. Miss Lewis was a member of Rawlinson Road Baptist Church. She was a rising sophomore at Northwestern High School and a volunteer for FOLKS. Surviving are her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Lewis; her sister Cheryl Ann Lewis of the home; maternal grandmother, Gladys Kinkead of Louisville, KY.; maternal grandfather, Melvin E. Grant of Louisville, KY; paternal grandmother, Gladys Davis of Jonesboro, Ga. The family will receive friends at the home. Memorials can be made to Rawlinson Road Baptist Church. Bass Funeral Home is in charge.
